Our Story Begins
Across the world, millions of Scots already think of Scotland as an independent country and in every way that matters, we are. We have our own culture, parliament, laws, and global identity. Yet in constitutional reality, Scotland is still denied the full powers of a sovereign nation.
That simple contradiction is why Yes Scotland International was born.
We exist to connect the story Scotland tells itself with the one the world needs to hear that we are a nation of ideas, innovation, and integrity, ready to take our rightful place among the global family of independent states.
For the millions of Scots who live abroad, and for every friend of Scotland around the world, YSI is a bridge linking our shared heritage to a shared future.
Because Scotland’s journey doesn’t end at the border; it begins wherever a Scot stands.
Why We Exist
Scotland’s struggle is not one of invention, but of recognition.
Our sovereignty exists in law and in spirit, but the world still sees us through the lens of a larger state.
Yes Scotland International was created to change that through connection, education, and action.
We work to educate the world about Scotland’s constitutional history and the principle of popular sovereignty that the people, not parliament, hold ultimate authority.
We empower Scots at home and abroad to contribute meaningfully to their nation’s future.
We engage the international community with truth, clarity, and respect showing that Scotland’s desire for independence is not about separation, but self-determination.
For too long, others have spoken for Scotland.
YSI gives Scotland its own voice confident, informed, and impossible to ignore.
What We Believe
We believe Scotland is and always has been a nation.
We believe the people of Scotland are sovereign.
We believe that democracy is not complete until the people who live here decide their own future.
We believe that Scots abroad remain part of that story, wherever they call home.
We believe that independence is not division it’s dignity.
These beliefs guide everything we do.
They are not the slogans of politics, but the principles of people who understand that freedom begins with knowledge, and power begins with unity.
Scotland’s story doesn’t end at the border it circles the globe, carried by every Scot who still believes that a fairer, freer nation is possible.
Who We Are
Yes Scotland International is a non-partisan, volunteer-driven network of Scots, researchers, artists, journalists, and advocates who share a common belief: that Scotland deserves to stand on its own two feet, respected by the world as the country it already feels itself to be.
We are the international face of a people-led movement — inspired by Scotland’s history, informed by law and fact, and powered by communities at home and abroad.
We are not a political party and do not speak for one. We speak for Scotland’s right to be recognised.
Our work draws strength from the wider pro-independence network — from Radio Saorsa, Liberation Scotland, and Sovereign Scot, to individual Scots who simply want their voice to count.
Together, we research, write, broadcast, and build — turning the independence movement’s moral case into an international conversation.
Our Global Work
YSI’s work happens wherever Scots do.
Through online platforms and partnerships, we connect Scotland to the world with honesty and purpose.
Awareness Campaigns — we create and share accessible content explaining Scotland’s constitutional reality, its history, and its right to independence under international law.
Diaspora Engagement — we help Scots abroad rediscover their connection to home through storytelling, events, and digital communities.
International Outreach — we build bridges with journalists, academics, and civic leaders to ensure Scotland’s democratic story is heard fairly.
Media Collaboration — we work with Radio Saorsa and independent Scottish media to broadcast Scotland’s voice far beyond the reach of traditional networks.
Our aim is simple: to make Scotland visible, credible, and understood — wherever decisions about nations and democracy are made.
